Casablanca: here are the entry prices for the Ain Sebaâ zoo approved by the City Council
Despite the numerous criticisms they have been the subject of in recent days, the entry prices for the Aïn Sebaâ zoological park were approved by the Casablanca Municipal Council, during its extraordinary session in November. The prices are thus set at 80 DH for adults and 50 DH for children, in addition to special packages for families and groups: 60 DH/adult and 40 DH/child. A calendar of progressive increases has also been set, according to well-informed sources, with prices reaching 120 DH for adults and 75 DH for children by 2033.

The mayor of the city, Nabila Rmili, defended these prices, which she described as "reasonable" given the significant costs associated with managing this space. She explained that the Council had chosen to bear the financial deficit and resort to delegated management, rather than privatizing or renting the site, which could have driven entry prices up to 500 DH. And to emphasize that this decision aims to guarantee the sustainability of the park, designed identically to that of Valencia.

For its part, the opposition group led by the Justice and Development Party (PJD) criticized this decision, believing that alternatives, such as partnerships with the private sector or the organization of events, would have allowed for increased revenue without increasing the cost for visitors. Abdessamad Haiker, representative of the party, also insisted on the importance of not postponing the opening of the park once again, after ten years of waiting.

Although the Council has committed to allocating an annual financial support estimated at 26 million dirhams, the opposition does not hide its skepticism regarding the ability of this strategy to balance operating costs and guarantee the accessibility of the Aïn Sebaâ zoo for all social categories.
