The popular Souks and various shops in Tan-Tan are experiencing exceptional activity during the month of Ramadan, due to the massive influx of families stocking up on food products that are a staple of Ramadan tables.
Thus, in the Souks and markets known in the city, as well as in public spaces, one can find a rich and diverse range of products typical of the holy month, notably traditional pastries of all kinds, notes the MAP.
A look at the products on display, such as milk, meat, fruits, vegetables, and other basic food items, shows that the supply is sufficient and at reasonable prices to meet the growing needs of families during this holy month, across all categories and social classes.
Traders have, therefore, confided to the MAP that the month of Ramadan represents a windfall for them, given the rise in demand for food products, but also for other items whose importance increases during this holy month.
For El Houssin. J, who runs a business selling flour, pulses, and pasta, the month of Ramadan sees a massive influx of families stocking up on products necessary for preparing various typically Ramadan dishes, which allows him to improve his turnover.
The same sentiment is echoed by Salek K., a seller of dried fruits, dates, and pulses, for whom Ramadan is an opportunity to improve his profits, especially since the products he sells are particularly prized by citizens.
He asserts in this regard that no change has affected the prices compared to previous months.
In a report released recently, the economic affairs division of the Tan-Tan province assured that supply and prices will be regular during this month, specifying that the quantities of basic products available are sufficient to supply the local market normally.
It should be noted that control services have multiplied their inspection operations on the occasion of the holy month, in order to counter any attempt at monopoly, speculation, or fraud.
