The Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Rabat is organising, from May 28 to 30, the 1st edition of the National University Film Festival of Rabat.

This event constitutes an essential platform for showcasing students' cinematographic productions and encouraging scientific research in the field of film studies, indicates a press release from the organisers.

Thus, this festival aims to provide an academic space conducive to exhibiting and exchanging ideas around cinematographic projects created by students, the same source specifies, noting that the activities planned as part of this event vary between conferences, film screenings, meetings, and workshops.

This edition will be marked by an official competition featuring short films, directed by students from Moroccan universities and higher institutes, which will be meticulously evaluated by a specialised jury, with a view to awarding honorary prizes in various categories.

Beyond the competitive dimension, the press release continues, the festival aims to promote students' skills in the field of cinematographic project development through the "Pitching" competition, which allows them to present their preliminary ideas before a jury composed of experienced experts.

The programme for this event also includes a series of scientific and cultural activities aimed at further strengthening academic dialogue and promoting the exchange of knowledge around subjects related to cinema and its teaching at the university level.

This includes, in particular, a conference on the cinematographic memory of the intellectual, in which researchers and professors will take part, and a round table dedicated to examining issues related to the teaching of cinema in universities and evaluating pedagogical approaches and ways to promote them in accordance with the theoretical and practical developments that the field of cinema is experiencing.
