Two partnership agreements were signed by Moroccan and Chinese companies during a meeting held recently in Rabat between the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, and a Chinese delegation led by the Governor of Jiangxi Province, Ye Jianchun.
Concluded between Cooper Pharma, a major player in the Moroccan pharmaceutical industry, and the Chinese pharmaceutical company, Jemincare Pharmaceutical Group, the first agreement aims to develop innovative therapeutic solutions, strengthen industrial capacities, and promote technological exchanges.
As for the second agreement, signed between Bank of Africa and Jiangxi Geo-engineering Investment Group, it illustrates the growing interest of Chinese economic actors in the Moroccan market and their desire to accompany the development of the African continent, from the Kingdom, reports MAP.
In a statement to the press on this occasion, Mr Mezzour highlighted the significant evolution that economic relations between Morocco and China are experiencing, which has allowed for the signing of these two major partnerships aimed at accompanying Chinese investments on the African continent and strengthening the Kingdom's health sovereignty, via the local production of medicines and active ingredients.
These two agreements, he continued, are in direct line with the High Royal Orientations, notably in terms of solidarity-based development in Africa and the strengthening of national health sovereignty.
Furthermore, Messrs Mezzour and Jianchun praised the quality of the economic partnership between Morocco and China, marked by a sustained dynamic, the broadening of fields of cooperation, the deployment of multisectoral projects, and the growing establishment of Chinese industrial groups in Morocco, particularly in the fields of industry and infrastructure.
Composed of institutional officials and economic and industrial operators, the Chinese delegation is visiting Morocco to further strengthen Sino-Moroccan economic and industrial ties, notably via the promotion of investments, the exchange of expertise, and the development of joint industrial projects.
