Rabat: Signing of a partnership agreement between the HCP and the Ministry of Industry and Trade
The High Commissioner for Planning, Chakib Benmoussa, and the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, signed a partnership agreement on Monday in Rabat aimed at strengthening cooperation between the High Commission for Planning (HCP) and the Ministry regarding data exchange.

This agreement constitutes an operational roadmap to harmonise information exchanges, evolve survey methods, and promote a better understanding of economic dynamics.

Aiming to support decision-making based on reliable and updated data, while accompanying the industrial development of the Kingdom, the said agreement provides in particular for the implementation of specific surveys, the exchange of data, as well as the carrying out of joint studies to support industrial strategies and promote investment, reports MAP.

In a statement to the press, Mr. Benmoussa highlighted the role of the HCP in providing reliable indicators, stressing that this partnership will allow for a better understanding of the evolution of the national industrial fabric and to meet the information needs of the various economic actors.

This cooperation framework, he continued, will allow for the structuring of data collection, analysis, and exploitation, in a spirit of respect for institutional independence and in the service of the quality of public policies.
He added: "Through this agreement, we are placing data at the centre of public action in the industry and trade sectors".

For his part, Mr. Mezzour insisted on the importance of having precise statistical data to develop effective public policies, welcoming the collaboration with the HCP as a strategic lever for monitoring and evaluating industrial performance.

He indicated that the two parties will work together, by mobilising the skills and capacities of the HCP, in order to produce more reliable data, available on time and in greater quantity, with a view to improving the conduct of public policies and accelerating their implementation.

The signing of this agreement confirms the common desire of the HCP and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to establish close cooperation in the service of the economic and social development of the Kingdom.
