Rabat – The Secretary General of the Istiqlal Party, Nizar Baraka, met on Monday in Rabat with the president of the Peruvian party "Fuerza Popular", Keiko Fujimori, who is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a party delegation.
During this interview, which took place in the presence of several members of the executive committee of the Istiqlal party, the two parties addressed numerous issues of common interest before examining the means to strengthen their bilateral relations.
At the end of these talks, the two parties signed a cooperation agreement covering, in particular, political, environmental, and social issues.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Baraka indicated that this agreement aims to promote joint action with a view to strengthening democratic practice and defending the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.
In a statement to the press, he recalled that the Peruvian party "Fuerza Popular" supports the territorial integrity of Morocco, adding that the Istiqlal party will work alongside the Peruvian party to strengthen bilateral cooperation and develop relations with right-wing parties in Latin American countries.
"This agreement also aims to address climate change and reduce spatial and social disparities," he continued.
For her part, Ms. Fujimori stressed that Peru supports the sovereignty of the Kingdom over its Sahara, adding that it is "a constant position supported for a long time within the Peruvian parliament."

"The signing of a cooperation agreement with the Istiqlal party crowns an important alliance between two parties sharing the same values, including those of democracy and an open economy," she added.
