Priority to the fight against poverty

Several development projects have been launched across the various communes of the Moulay Yacoub province over the last two years to improve the living conditions of its inhabitants.
Priority to the fight against poverty

Upgrading infrastructure and fighting poverty and social exclusion remain at the top of the priorities for the Moulay Yacoub province to improve the lives of the local population. A total of 439 development projects were scheduled for the province for the years 2011 and 2012 with a total cost of 4,748,283,006.58 DH. These projects were presented to Mohamed Moudden Al Alami, governor of the Moulay Yacoub province, on 27 July during a ceremony celebrating the Feast of the Throne. Carried out by the Moulay Yacoub province (231 projects), the Fès-Boulemane regional council (22), the province's communes (44), and decentralized services (142), these projects relate to the creation of income-generating activities, the upgrading of basic equipment and infrastructure, as well as the construction of social and sports complexes. These projects essentially aim to improve the living environment of the province's inhabitants and the integration of young people, women, and vulnerable groups in society. Among these development projects, about a hundred are part of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH). Thus, more than 50 development projects are scheduled for the year 2012, with a total budget of 18,545,511 DH, adding to the 55 projects launched in 2011 under the INDH with a cost of 13,710,156.42 DH. For the Moulay Yacoub province, these various human development projects aim to boost social and economic dynamics in this predominantly rural province, notably through the promotion of education, the development of health services, and quality infrastructure, while working to open up the rural population by opening and developing rural tracks.

It should be recalled that the Moulay Yacoub province benefited, during the 2005/2011 period, from several structuring projects within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH). These are 242 projects endowed with an investment of 99,796,221.24 DH. The INDH support fund contributed 76,848,845.76 MDH, while the rest was mobilized by partners.

These projects, which fall under the four INDH programs, namely the transversal program, the program to fight precariousness, the emergency program, and the program to fight poverty in rural areas, have benefited a population of 149,818 inhabitants and have concerned sectors such as health, education, cultural and sports activities, and the strengthening of associations' capacities.

A local social centre in Ras El Ma

The governor of the Moulay Yacoub province, Mohamed Moudden Al Alami, proceeded during the same ceremony to lay the foundation stone of a local social centre in Ras El Ma in the rural commune of Ain Chkef. Requiring an investment of 2.4 million DH, this centre, whose work will span a period of 10 months, will be carried out within the framework of the INDH. It will be equipped with a multidisciplinary room, a multimedia room, a sewing workshop, a school support room, a nursery, as well as sanitary facilities. This project, which includes the construction of a sports field with a budget of 500,000 DH, will have as its mission the social and human development of the commune's inhabitants, by introducing them to educational and social activities, and by offering them the opportunity to benefit from qualifying training that would favour their professional integration.
