He led the child into one of the outbuildings of the place of worship, and abused her several times, without anyone's knowledge. Paedophilia: The Al Massira district in Marrakech is in shock. A man in his thirties, responsible for cleaning and guarding the mosque, was arrested after repeatedly sexually abusing the daughter of one of the caretakers housed on site. The latter caught him in the act. He was taken into police custody. A few days ago, the residents of the Al Massira district in Marrakech could not believe their eyes. In a mosque, a place associated with peace and trust, a girl of about ten years old was the victim of indecent assault. A man in his thirties was arrested. He was responsible for cleaning and guarding the mosque in the district. To the worshippers, he was a familiar face, one of those you see every day without paying attention. He knew the little girl, the daughter of one of the caretakers housed on site, just as he knew her whole family. It was this proximity that he exploited. He led the child into one of the outbuildings of the place of worship, and abused her several times, without anyone's knowledge. Then everything happened quickly. The girl's father caught the suspect in the act. Enraged, he lunged at him, and the two men came to blows. The violence of the altercation attracted the neighbours, who gathered in front of the mosque, not understanding what was happening behind those walls. Officers from the judicial police of the city's security prefecture rushed to the scene. They arrested the caretaker on the spot. He was handed over to the brigade responsible for the protection of minors, which opened an investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office at the Court of Appeal of the Ochre City. Taken into police custody, the accused remained at the disposal of the investigators, who established the precise sequence of events and their motives, and verified the possible existence of other victims. He will then be brought before the justice system, which will decide on the follow-up. Receive the latest news from Aujourd'hui Le Maroc directly on WhatsApp
