The Council of the Fès-Meknès region, meeting on Monday in an extraordinary session, unanimously approved its administrative organisational chart, focused primarily on the consecration of good local governance.

The future administrative organisational chart of the Fès-Meknès region, which is part of the new mechanisms and rules for managing local authorities, provides for the establishment of about twenty services and six divisions.

These divisions concern rural development, training and skills development, social, cultural and sports development, legal, financial and equipment affairs, territorial planning and environmental protection, as well as regional development affairs.

The President of the Fès-Meknès Regional Council, M’hand Laenser, highlighted on this occasion the importance given to the organic laws of local authorities, with the aim of achieving the expected sustainable development and ensuring the citizen's access to public services under the best conditions.

After underlining the role assigned to the region in the realisation and implementation of economic, social and cultural development, M’hand Laenser stated that the objective of the new structure of the Fès-Meknès regional council is to modernise the territorial administration by equipping it with an organisation capable of meeting its needs and by improving the readability of its organisational charts.

The other speakers insisted on the need to develop prospective visions and development strategies and the proposal of expertise and know-how in the field of sustainable territorial development in its technical, socio-economic and cultural aspects.
