King Mohammed VI appointed Abderrahim Chahid, a leader of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces party and a native of the Zagora province, as Minister of Employment and Social Dialogue, within the new government formation whose appointment ceremony was presided over by King Mohammed VI on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the Royal Palace in Rabat.
Chahid's appointment to head this sector comes after a political and parliamentary career during which he accumulated experience within the legislative institution, where he represented the Zagora province in the House of Representatives, before assuming the presidency of the Socialist Group-Socialist Opposition.
