Ouarzazate Province: 333 MDH for the rehabilitation of areas affected by floods
This programme, whose launch was supervised on Thursday by the Governor of Ouarzazate province, Abdellah Jahid, aims to upgrade infrastructure and strengthen the resilience of rural areas against natural disasters.

Spread over eight months, this programme targeting 16 territorial communes in the Ouarzazate province also intends to support spatial and social cohesion by improving the living conditions of the population and access to basic services.

In a statement to MAP, the director of the Ouarzazate-Aménagement company, Brahim Hammo Aouja, indicated that this ambitious programme, supervised and financed by the Ministry of the Interior, aims to rehabilitate damaged roads in order to strengthen connectivity, and to improve basic infrastructure, notably electricity, water, and sanitation networks, damaged by the floods that affected the region last September and October.

This programme includes the development and rehabilitation of a global road network of 140 kilometres, as well as the construction of 96 engineering structures, the restoration of bridges, and the rehabilitation of water, electricity, and sanitation networks.

Part of a partnership between the Ouarzazate province, the concerned territorial collectivities, the regional development company "Ouarzazate Aménagement", and the National Office of Electricity and Water, the said programme reflects, according to its sponsors, the continuous commitment to promoting global rural development, improving the quality of life of citizens in areas affected by floods, and embodying a development model based on solidarity, efficiency, and sustainability.
