The Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) confirmed its appreciation for the path taken by judicial investigations regarding the incidents witnessed by two polling stations in the Tangier-Assilah electoral district during the September 23, 2026, vote, announcing its readiness to bear its organizational and political responsibilities if the results of the investigations show a link for any of its members or officials to the case.
This comes after the authorities arrested, on Monday morning, Mounir Laymouri, the Mayor of the city of Tangier and the regional coordinator of the Authenticity and Modernity Party, immediately after his return to national territory coming from Spain, against the backdrop of ongoing investigations regarding the irregularities that marred the electoral process in the Tangier-Assilah electoral district.
