The French Institute of Tangier will host, on 17 January, a puppet show by the company Des Fourmis dans la lanterne, titled "Vent debout". This visual, wordless show tells the story of a young girl whose life is turned upside down when she makes the strange discovery of a country teeming with words, sounds, and inscriptions. "It speaks of the life of a young girl whose life is turned upside down when she makes the strange discovery of a country teeming with words, sounds, and inscriptions. Having only known silence, she tries to understand what separates her from this other world. At her home, everything is white and nothing resists the wind. A powerful, capricious, and omnipresent wind. This visual, wordless show is inspired by countries where people are silenced by censorship. It is about freedom of expression, commitment, and struggle. A poetic escape for puppets in a paper universe," reads the presentation of the show.
