According to the mid-term report presented on Monday during the extraordinary session of the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council, chaired by Council President Omar Moro in the presence of the region's Wali, Younes Tazi, the Council has succeeded, as part of its ongoing efforts to implement the 2022-2027 Regional Development Programme, in contracting more than 160 projects out of a total of 233 planned, representing a 70% progress rate in the contracting of projects scheduled for this period.
From the beginning of the current Council term until the July 2024 session, these projects were validated through 323 agreements, including framework and specific agreements, the same source specified, noting that the budget for the validated projects amounts to approximately 17.42 billion dirhams (MMDH), or more than 88% of the programme's total budget (19.65 MMDH).
Regarding the Regional Council's financial contribution to these agreements, total commitments exceed 6.26 MMDH, representing approximately 92% of the financial contribution planned under the 2022-2027 Regional Development Programme, estimated at 6.77 MMDH.
In terms of financial execution, the region has already disbursed more than 2.65 MMDH under the agreements signed to date, representing 42% of the financial commitments made and 29% of the overall technical progress of the projects, the Council stated, noting that this demonstrates the commitment to materialising the scheduled projects and advancing work within the set deadlines.
These data highlight the significant progress made in the realisation of projects included in the regional development programme and reflect the notable success of the Regional Council in effectively mobilising funding, whether its own or through partnerships, to bring these initiatives to fruition, the same source added, recalling that the ultimate goal remains to foster sustainable and inclusive development covering all provinces of the region.
