The Minister Delegate to the Minister of Equipment, Transport and Logistics in charge of Transport, Mohamed Najib Boulif, accompanied by the mayor of the city, Fouad Omary, and the president of the M'ghougha commune, inaugurated, last week, the new CTM bus station of Tangier in M'ghougha. Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Najib Boulif stated that this new project is in line with the major projects launched within the framework of the Tangier Metropole programme and the ministry's strategy aimed at reforming the transport sector, stressing that this station meets the quality standards necessary for the management of public transport and the improvement of services offered to travellers. The minister also indicated that this new station was part of the projects for strengthening transport infrastructure and services, including the public bus station of Tangier currently under construction. With a budget of 33 million dirhams, the new CTM station was built to accommodate 250,000 passengers per year.
Through this opening, CTM confirms its position as the Moroccan leader in road transport. An approach placing permanent innovation, continuous improvement and passenger comfort at the centre of its priorities. Being part of the dynamic of growth and strengthening of the CTM network, the new station will allow for the creation of 30 direct jobs and more than 50 indirect ones. "The opening of this new bus station is part of the strengthening of reception infrastructure and service to our clientele. It provides our customers with quality spaces and services that thus offer even more comfort and safety to passengers. It comes, like the other private bus stations of the CTM network, to improve the travel experience with our company," stressed Ezzoubeir Errhaimini, CEO of CTM.
The new CTM station in Tangier allows for the improvement of reception capacity. It offers better proximity to travellers and responds effectively to growing demand. Accessibility is improved thanks to a geographical positioning that provides a quick connection to the motorway axes in the direction of Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakech, as well as the Tetouan, Fez and Oujda axes. Equipped with a Premium lounge, the new bus station also hosts the CTM Premium Luxury coach service which will serve the daily line to Casablanca and Rabat. This building also houses an agency dedicated to CTM Messagerie (courier) clients, with a larger space for storage and distribution of goods.
