The Tangier City Hall will host from 24 to 26 April the third edition of the International Forum of Medinas around the theme "Heritage: challenges and opportunities for sustainable development". A rich programme is on the menu for these three days. The official opening will be dedicated to inaugural speeches followed by institutional films and tributes and conventions at the Tangier City Hall. Finally, on the third and last day, the closing plenary session will be devoted to the general report and recommendations, followed by the Tangier appeal, the signing of conventions and the reading of the telegram of allegiance addressed to

His Majesty King Mohammed VI. In parallel, a visit to heritage cities and exhibitions of local products and another artistic exhibition as well as a gala evening with heritage music are in the rich programme of the three days of the forum. After the resounding success of the second edition of the International Forum of Medinas, which took place from 14 to 16 March in Tetouan and which saw the massive presence of participants from 15 countries of the Mediterranean, Africa, Europe and the United States, as well as international institutions such as the UNDP, UNESCO, ISESCO, ICOMOS and others. The third edition is organised by the Mediterranean Network in partnership with the Tangier-Medina commune and the Tangier-Tetouan region as well as several local authorities. We will also note the presence of representatives from 15 Mediterranean countries and numerous international experts. The speakers will focus on public policies for the promotion of heritage as a driver of sustainable development, mechanisms for cooperation, partnership and solidarity for the preservation of heritage. The third theme is titled: Services and development of intermediate cities of the 15th century; finally, the last theme is: "What future for heritage in areas in a state of crisis?" Partnership agreements will be signed on the third and last day of the Forum and tributes will be paid to important personalities. In parallel, exhibitions of local and artistic products will be presented during this Forum. One of the objectives of this Forum is, indeed, to mark the strategic positioning of Morocco at the level of Arab and African countries, in relation to the perpetuation of heritage. The Forum offers a reading of the history of Morocco: a land of peace and a crossroads of civilisations, a country that possesses exceptional heritage.
