A cash-in-transit truck was robbed on Monday morning near a bank branch in Tangier by hooded individuals who stole a sum of money before fleeing. According to a police source, a gang of four criminals used a firearm against security guards in charge of monitoring the cash-in-transit vehicle, wounding one of them in the leg. Another security guard received a blow to the head, the same source added, stressing that the robbers managed to flee in a light vehicle. The two wounded were transported to the Mohammed V provincial hospital to receive the necessary care, the same source notes, stressing that the amount of the stolen sum is for the moment undetermined and that the criminals are being actively sought by the relevant services.
