Two members of the security forces injured in Tangier

Two members of the security forces were injured on Wednesday in Tangier during the evacuation of a person's body from the public highway, which some illegal immigration candidates tried to prevent, wanting to exploit the incident by improvising a march in the form of a funeral procession, local authorities indicated.

The same source specified that following a telephone call from a female voice, received by the Civil Protection during the afternoon of Wednesday, requesting the evacuation of the body of a person lying on the public highway in the Al Irfane district located in the Tangier-Boukhalef urban district, an ambulance was urgently dispatched to the scene.

But, it was added from the same source, the Civil Protection elements were unable to evacuate the body in question due to the interference of some illegal immigration candidates who threw stones and gathered around the body to try to exploit this incident by improvising a march in the form of a funeral procession.

Upon the arrival of the security forces at the scene, the deceased's body was recovered and evacuated to the morgue. During this operation, two members of the security forces were injured, local authorities indicated, adding that an investigation has been opened under the authority of the competent public prosecutor's office to determine the circumstances of this death.
