Officers from the Tangier police prefecture dismantled a psychotropic tablet trafficking network on Wednesday evening, arresting the network's ringleader and seizing some 5,000 tablets.

According to a police source, this hard drug trafficking network, which operated between Tangier and Casablanca, was dismantled thanks to the arrest of several small-time drug dealers in Casablanca, which led to the identification of their main supplier and his arrest in a café in the Béni Makada district of Tangier.

A search of the suspect's home in the same district led to the discovery of this quantity of drugs and the seizure of bladed weapons, mobile phones, and a sum of money, the same source indicated, adding that investigations are ongoing to arrest the other members of this network.
