It has become a tradition for students of the International Higher Institute of Tourism of Tangier (ISIT). They welcomed, as part of their periodic meetings with tourism professionals in Morocco, Lahcen Haddad, Minister of Tourism, during a meeting-debate organised on Friday, 22 December, around training in tourism and hospitality professions. "Skills training constitutes a strategic project allowing for the support of the operationalisation of Vision 2020," indicated Mr Haddad, while announcing on this occasion the development of a study with the participation of tourism professionals to determine the needs in tourism and hospitality professions.

Furthermore, the ISIT of Tangier positions itself as a lever for the development of a superior offer in hospitality and tourism training (public-private) in Morocco. According to Mr Haddad, this institute, created in 1972 by the Ministry of Tourism, is considered a reference establishment at the regional, national, and international levels. The State is thus committed to strengthening the training offer of the ISIT of Tangier, which "occupies a major place in the tourism training strategy initiated as part of Vision 2020," he specified.

For his part, Abdelhak Mouhtaj, Director of the ISIT of Tangier, indicated that great resources have been mobilised to make the Institute an establishment of excellence, as is planned in Vision 2020. He continued that the challenge of the training offer of the ISIT of Tangier is to promote the skills of its graduates. "We do not train theorists, but managers capable of occupying operations management positions in tourism and hospitality companies, without forgetting all the niche tourism activities," he stressed.

It should be noted that the ISIT of Tangier has been able to train more than 6,172 graduates since its creation, distributed across hospitality and tourism professions. It is highly sought after by high school graduates for the overall quality of training and the average success rate close to 99%. The ISIT of Tangier recorded, during the 2011-2012 year, some 600 students, of whom foreigners represent 10% of the total number of enrolled students.
