Following the implementation of the mechanisms of the INDH (National Initiative for Human Development), set up on the High orientations of H.M. King Mohammed VI, for the fight against poverty and social precariousness, the AMANSD association has taken on a mission of promotion, integration, schooling, and social and medical protection of children in difficult situations in the Mesnana district, in Tangier. AMANSD aims to be a social, humanitarian, and apolitical association working for the protection of children and their families as well as foreign communities living in their territory of Mesnana. An inauguration ceremony for the reception centre for children in difficult situations took place recently after a series of rehabilitation and upgrading works covered by the company Amendis Tangier, a subsidiary of Veolia Environnement Maroc.
The event took place on March 29 in the presence of the management and officials of Amendis Tangier, local authorities, and the president of the AMANSD association, Fayçal Dadoum.
In order to improve the reception conditions for the approximately 100 children received in this centre,
Amendis Tangier took charge of subsidising the rehabilitation and upgrading works of the centre in question.
The work site focused on several aspects: carrying out rehabilitation works for the children's education classroom, creation of a dispensary providing primary care, carrying out renovation works for the kitchen, carrying out painting works, supply of furniture necessary for the children's comfort, and redevelopment of a floor specially dedicated to children and including a classroom, a play area, a dining room, and a nursery. By participating in this social initiative, Amendis Tangier confirms its solidarity commitment as a corporate citizen at the service of the modest social strata of Tangier and thus expresses its pride in accompanying the social activities of the region.
The president of AMANSD gave an overview of this association located in a marginalised neighbourhood of Mesnana, explaining that "the precious support of Amendis has opened up the hope of a bright future for us." For his part, Abderrahim Hwarraz, representative of the executive director of Amendis Tangier, recalled that Amendis Tangier remains mobilised to "target civic actions in the city."
A young child, Adam Doukkali, took the floor to thank the company for its support for this centre and wished it welcome. A certificate was presented by the president of the AMANSD association to the official of Amendis Tangier to thunderous applause from hundreds of guests present.
Created on April 2, 2008, the AMANSD association works for the promotion, integration, and schooling of children in the said neighbourhood, through their reception in its nursery and
their schooling until the age of 6. It commits in its statutes to transparency vis-à-vis its users and partners, to accompanying children in respect of their fundamental rights, equality of treatment between girls and boys, adaptation of the association's services to children in difficult situations, and involvement and participation in decision-making.

-* The association is based on a territorial proximity approach by intervening for the integration of children within their families and existing state structures in the neighbourhood.
