The city of Mohammedia must continue its efforts to enhance its seaside vocation by launching varied animation programmes that integrate ecological, environmental, and sustainable development components. The services concerned must focus on the appeal of the beaches, on their cleanliness, the quality of their bathing water, the elimination of any risk of wastewater flowing towards certain beaches, but also and above all the maintenance of controls and surveillance to enhance the seaside potential of a city where thousands of national and foreign holidaymakers flock. However, and despite the actions carried out, the seaside and summer asset has not been optimised to maintain a dynamic that would favour the attractiveness of the beaches and develop the city's destination of choice during the summer. Furthermore, the considerable influx of holidaymakers to the various beaches of Mohammedia generates numerous problems that hinder the efforts made to improve summer conditions. Provisions have, certainly, been taken in terms of cleanliness, hygiene, fluidity of traffic, security, quality of bathing water, etc., but remain insufficient for better management of the beaches. The big problem is undoubtedly the behaviour of certain holidaymakers who do not respect safety regulations and care little about the environmental aspect. To this are added the problems linked to hygiene, the phenomenon of the occupation of the maritime domain, that of the rental of parasols offered by individuals, horse or camel rides, the practice of dangerous sports, music devices, and the sale of food products of dubious origin. Despite these black spots that challenge the services concerned and require sustained and concrete actions for the well-being of holidaymakers, it is worth highlighting the actions planned this season with the help of the same corporate citizens who have invested in the equipment of these places of urbanity by proposing recreational activities, educational games, and sports activities for children.

The efforts made in past seasons were at the origin of the distinctions obtained in 2010 and 2011 by the Sablettes beach which had complied with the strict certification criteria, which allowed this small and beautiful beach to be labelled "Blue Flag". This distinction, heavy with meaning, was however not preserved, since during the 2012 season the Sablettes beach did not receive this label. Hence the need for the services concerned to invest more to reconquer this distinction for the Sablettes and for the other beaches.

To succeed in this challenge, it would be imperative to forge several partnerships with local communes, civil associations, and corporate citizens interested in the environment so that all the beaches of Mohammedia enter the big leagues. To fill the gaps, numerous provisions have been taken concerning transport, animation, security, waste collection, the installation of toilets, traffic, hygiene, the quality of bathing water, etc. In the framework of the "Clean Beaches" operation, initiated by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, efforts have been made at all levels, which will allow the beaches of Mohammedia to comply with the criteria in terms of development, management, security, and quality of bathing water.

The objective: to offer holidaymakers better summer conditions. The services concerned have thought about taking care of people with specific needs for whom a car park, spaces equipped with wheelchairs and deckchairs will be set up to allow them to enjoy the pleasures of the sea.

The provincial directorate of Equipment and Transport has secured the spaces reserved for bathers by equipping the "Centre Mohammedia" and "les Sablettes" beaches with beacons. At the level of raising awareness and informing holidaymakers about the marking, awareness panels and signposts have been put in place. Furthermore, and contrary to the past summer season, the provincial directorate of Equipment and Transport did not launch, this summer, procedures for renting chairs, parasols, and jet-skis.
