The coastline seriously threatened

The coastline of Mohammedia is increasingly fragile. The dangers that threaten it are multiple: some beaches are deprived of their protective dunes used for construction, erosion, accelerated urbanisation, industrial and domestic waste, climate change, etc. To this is added the extension of the port jetty which caused a deviation of water currents, resulting in silting of the central beach and desilting of the Sablettes, Monica, and Manesman beaches.A large part of the coastal shoreline is denatured by high tides. During the construction of the jetty, the impact of the infrastructure on sediment transport was neglected.
