The Marche Verte square at a standstill
The Marche Verte square in the centre of the lower town of Mohammedia, long marginalised from development policies, has benefited from a redevelopment operation. The objective of this operation is to integrate tourism promotion efforts with the safeguarding of the city's heritage. In addition to the redevelopment of the square, a fountain has been erected to give a soul to the centre of Mohammedia.
"These redevelopments have not solved the problems; they have accentuated those of mobility and traffic, the prohibition in one direction of certain important axes such as the FAR, Bir Anzarane, Abderrahmane Serghini boulevards and Nador and Mansour Eddahbi streets.
