The Faculty of Letters of Tetouan, in partnership with the Artciné Association, composed of academics, film professionals, and graduates of the specialised master's degree in documentary film, with the collaboration of Moroccan and foreign organisations and institutions, are organising the International Festival of Film Schools, FIDEC Morocco, from 27 to 30 April 2015 in Martil. A rich and diversified programme will be offered to the Moroccan public and foreign guests of the event. The first initiative of its kind in Morocco, the creation of the International Festival of Film Schools (FIDEC Morocco) crowns 27 years of cinema at the Faculty of Letters of the Abdelmalek Essaadi University (Tetouan). The organisation of this event fills a void. It does not constitute just another festival; it is a necessary and useful event for the city and the whole country. For several years, there has been a real dynamic of schools, universities, and institutes teaching cinema.
FIDEC Morocco aims to promote the works of young creators from all over the world, whether they come from film schools, universities, or institutes for training in image professions. It aims to serve as a platform for meetings and exchanges for young people from the four corners of the planet and from different cultures. A rich and diversified programme will be offered to the Moroccan public and the Festival's guests, as well as an international competition and another of national scale testifying to the vitality of today's Moroccan film schools, Masterclasses, and professional meetings.
