The 4th edition of the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute (IAV) Fair was held on Saturday in Rabat, under the theme "The Morocco of tomorrow: towards a territorial transition and efficient management of natural resources".
Organized by student associations from various fields (rural engineering, topography, agronomy, agri-food engineering, fisheries engineering, and veterinary medicine), this fair was an opportunity for the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Redouane Arrach, to highlight the importance of anchoring agricultural and territorial transitions in local dynamics.
Territories, he argued, are now at the heart of major challenges related to climate change, food security, and the sustainable management of natural resources, reports the MAP.
Mr. Arrach recalled that Morocco, within the framework of the "Generation Green" strategy, has chosen to place human capital at the center of its agricultural transformation, by focusing on connected, informed youth who are carriers of initiatives, deeming it essential to better connect academic knowledge to the realities on the ground.
He noted the need to structure the transition in a progressive and planned manner, through an integrated approach that takes into account demographic changes, economic needs, and environmental imperatives.
For his part, the Director of IAV Hassan II, Abdelaziz El Hraiki, praised the commitment of the students, stating that "the theme chosen this year reflects our collective desire to think about the future differently".
He noted that the Institute's ambition is to remain a "crossroads of ideas, knowledge, and solutions", through a strengthened anchoring in the dynamics of agricultural and territorial transformation.
For Mr. El Hraiki, this fair helps to strengthen the links between researchers, industrialists, decision-makers, and future executives, by pooling efforts to build a more sustainable and inclusive agricultural model.
Furthermore, he welcomed the growing openness of IAV Hassan II to the international stage, noting that in 2025, the Institute is hosting 167 international students from 37 countries, mainly from Africa, but also from countries such as Turkey, the United States, and Argentina.
This fair was marked by the signing of partnership agreements between IAV Hassan II and the Moroccan companies Barlomar and Lumtech Aquaculture.
