As an integral part of the national social housing programme (250,000 DH), this project reflects the constant solicitude that the Sovereign surrounds the middle classes and low-income households with, by allowing them to access decent housing under advantageous conditions, as well as the royal will to create all the necessary and favourable conditions for balanced and sustainable human development. The realization of this project is in line with the efforts deployed for the improvement of the living conditions of a large segment of the population of the Greater Casablanca region, but also the implementation of the prevention policy intended to contain the scourge of unsanitary housing and thereby improve the urban landscape of the city.
Mobilizing investments of around 250 million dirhams, the "Al Amal" real estate project was carried out on a 6.7 ha plot and involved the construction of 1,547 social apartments, including 1,000 under the second phase, 400 shops, a primary school, a sports hall, a nursery, and a mini-market. Carried out by the company "Anouar Al Mostakbal", the "Al Amal" real estate operation should contribute to the reduction of the housing deficit in the province of Nouaceur and to the emergence of new urban poles, the main objective being to accompany the demographic and economic dynamic that the Greater Casablanca region as a whole is experiencing.
In order to ensure the realization of the national social housing programme under the best conditions, concrete measures have been adopted, notably the creation of a one-stop shop at the Casablanca Urban Agency, the prior examination of social housing projects, the study of projects within the framework of a joint commission in the presence of engineer-architects and real estate developers, and the monitoring of projects by technical commissions for the control of equipment and construction works.
To date, more than 143 real estate projects (1,108 ha) have been examined and authorized. These projects, which total some 153,591 social housing units, 9,918 social mix units, and 3,653 economic land lots, include nearly 520 local public and private facilities (schools, mosques, clinics, nurseries...). On this occasion, H.M. the King visited a show apartment before symbolically handing over the keys to apartments and property certificates to ten beneficiaries of the second phase of this real estate project.
