"Tawassol" makes Roches Noires vibrate

The Roches Noires district is vibrating until 16 June to the rhythms of the 2nd edition of the "Tawassol" festival. The event is organised by the council of the said district in partnership with the municipal council of the city of Casablanca and the Ain Sebaâ-Hay Mohammadi district prefecture. Anxious to offer a dynamic image of cultural animation in this part of the metropolis, the organisers are redoubling their efforts to offer a better programme to the public. "The festival organisers began their work three months ago. The commission responsible for culture within the district put in place several proposals in consultation with cultural and associative actors. The festival programme was then validated by an artistic team demanding in terms of programming," indicates Abderrahim Outass, president of the Roches Noires district. These remarks are confirmed by the rich and diversified programme that the festival offers this year. Six days of artistic escape are on the programme with artists coming from different Moroccan cities to share their passion with the Casablanca public. Wednesday and Thursday were placed under the sign of theatre with the programming of the plays "Tkarkib Nab" (chatter) by the Nomade theatre and "soit une femme" (be a woman) by the theatre troupe "Jedba Fen" which took place at the Mohammed VI theatre. This space is until 16 June a crossroads of musical styles with several concerts hosted from 8:30 p.m. by Moroccan musicians and singers. On Friday, the public is invited to experience exceptional moments with a show signed by Nezha Chaabaoui, Hatim Ammour and Rachida Talal. On 15 June, the masters of Chaâbi Groove, Mazagan, will interpret a mixture of traditional songs and urban sounds for the great pleasure of their fans. This night will also be embellished by a show by the rapper Muslim, who is now establishing himself as one of the great figures of Moroccan underground rap. The festival will close in style with Moroccan folklore. It is Aicha Tachinwite and Ouled Ben Aguida who will host the final evening.

Let us recall that the "Tawassol" festival attracted 150,000 people in its first edition, according to the organisers. This year, they hope to reach the same figure even if they were unable to programme activities in several spaces of Roches Noires due to construction work.

Sports activities on the programme

Besides music, the "Tawassol" festival programmes sports, educational and recreational activities such as football tournaments for women and neighbourhood teams as well as a walking race scheduled for 15 June. Also on the programme is a mini-football tournament on Saturday and a cycling race on Sunday. Furthermore, students from some schools in the district benefited from an awareness campaign on respect for the environment.
