Twenty-two shops, specialising in the wholesale of plastic goods, were devastated by a fire that broke out on Friday afternoon in a kissaria in Casablanca, reports the MAP. The fire reportedly started in shops in the Essaada kissaria (Fida Mers Sultan prefecture), located on the ground floor of a six-storey residential building, and was only brought under control more than four hours later by firefighters. Six people were evacuated to the Bouafi prefectural hospital for smoke inhalation. Apartments on the first floor of the building were also damaged by the fire, the causes of which remain undetermined.
