A good-natured atmosphere, infectious cheerfulness, and active participation from the public. This is how one can describe the party organized on Sunday, 28 March, at the Aïn Chock-Casablanca retirement home by the Jawahra Association for Development and Solidarity (AJDS). An event that is in its eighth consecutive year. "We have made it a habit to come to the venue every year to meet the residents and spend good times with them," Rachid Wazergui, president of Jawahra, told us. He specified: "We have forged personal and emotional relationships with the residents, and this visit has become more than just an associative activity. We are determined to give these people a little human warmth and recognition of the parental status they seek to regain," our source confided.
A day of sharing and support that was marked by a rich and varied programme: dance, singing, and theatre before everyone gathered around a festive meal carefully prepared by the Association's staff, whose members each had the pleasure of sharing a portion with the residents of the home. "The word sharing is essential, and through this action, we try to introduce the members of our association, including a large number of children, to values of respect, solidarity, and sharing," concluded Rachid Wazergui.
