Casablanca Hosts 2nd HSK Study in China Education & Career Expo

Organized by the Confucius Institute of Hassan II University in Casablanca, in partnership with the Hankao International Center, Chinese Testing International (CTI) and the Center for Linguistic Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Chinese Ministry of Education, this exhibition offers an opportunity for young Moroccan students to obtain detailed information on the courses on offer and how to apply to study in China.

The opening ceremony was attended by China's ambassador to Morocco Li Changlin and President of Casablanca Hassan II University Houssine Azeddoug. The event aims to promote programs of excellence for studies in China and build educational and cultural bridges between the two countries, as well as fostering academic exchanges, encouraging innovation and strengthening friendship between the two nations.

Speaking at the event, the Chinese ambassador to Morocco emphasized that this year's event takes place against a backdrop of flourishing human, cultural and educational exchanges between the Kingdom of Morocco and China, highlighting the sustained momentum of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the automotive and renewable energy sectors.

To enshrine these promising cooperation prospects, Li Changlin felt that young Moroccans and Chinese should be able to exchange ideas and benefit from study and training opportunities.

For his part, Azeddoug explained that this fair reflects the University's strong commitment to strengthening academic ties and cultural exchanges between Morocco and China, through establishing new prospects for collaboration between the two countries' higher education establishments.

Listing the several memorandums of understanding inked between Hassan II University and a dozen Chinese universities over the past two years, Azeddoug noted the growing interest of young Moroccans in learning the Chinese language, with the Confucius Institute recording a 20% increase in enrolments for the year 2024/2025 compared with the previous year.
