While the rescuers were busy towing the Silver out to sea and an international NGO was asking Morocco to sign a partnership agreement aimed at avoiding the repetition of this type of incident, another fishing vessel capsized at the entrance to the port of death, under the same conditions as the oil tanker. Thanks to his endurance and the fact that he is a good swimmer, Ahmed Ouraye was able to stay on the surface of the water until the intervention of a Spanish helicopter, which was flying over the area at the time the fishing boat was shipwrecked. This second accident, which occurred a few days after that of the Silver, was condemned by all components of the local civil society who, in a press release, requested the opening of an investigation to define responsibilities.
