In any case, this is what has been on the agenda of the province of Sidi Slimane for some time, particularly in that of its governor Lahoucine Amzal. Several operations were carried out in this direction during the celebration of the 42nd anniversary of Earth Day. Cleaning, maintenance and landscaping campaigns for green spaces were laboriously carried out thanks to the mobilisation of a potential workforce consisting of 100 workers, 10 gardeners and 5 specialised technicians. Trees were pruned, and some green spaces were weeded and cleared of brush. Whitewashing, painting and limewashing of facades are being undertaken, in parallel with campaigns to plant trees, flowers (geraniums) and many other plants, of all species combined, in different neighbourhoods and boulevards of the two cities. The results were not long in coming. Sidi Slimane and Sidi Yahya immediately regained their colour. The cleaning and beautification operations have given new life to certain neighbourhoods that had been abandoned for a long time. And this, thanks to the combined efforts of all the stakeholders, certain associations and a large number of citizens. The protection of the environment and green spaces in this young province, considered one of the cleanest and greenest in the country, is decisive. "This campaign must encourage us to continue our efforts so that every citizen can live in a healthy and sanitary environment," declared Lahoucine Amzal.
