The local authorities of Settat have put in place an action plan to develop and renovate the city's green spaces and public squares. This plan, which is part of the Settat city upgrading programme, aims at the rehabilitation of existing gardens and parks, the creation of new passenger spaces providing for recreational plots equipped with facilities, such as rides for children, sports fields, water points, kiosks, specifies a press release from the local authorities. This new plan also aims at the development of peri-urban forests to reduce the impact on existing sites and the planting and homogenisation of alignment trees at the level of the axes, it is added. Furthermore, a cleanliness and environmental qualification campaign for the sites and neighbourhoods of Settat was launched recently by the province's authorities, in partnership with the city's municipal council, the National Office of Railways (ONCF), economic operators, as well as civil society actors.
