The 93rd edition of the Sefrou Cherry Festival, an event now inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, opened on Thursday evening in Sefrou with the famous torchlight retreat ceremony.

Initiated by the city's Municipal Council and the "Hab Lamlouk" Association, this cultural and artistic event recorded on the first day of its start a massive influx of visitors and national and foreign tourists who came to follow as usual the traditional torchlight retreat ceremony. The first day of the Festival was also marked by the visit of the governor of the Sefrou province, Abdeslam Zouggar, and the president of the city's Municipal Council, Abdellatif Maâzouz, as well as several personalities to the cherry products fair and exhibitions of Moroccan cities classified as UNESCO intangible heritage.
