At the initiative of the regional office of the National Union of Higher Education in the Doukkala-Abda region, the Polydisciplinary Faculty of Safi is hosting this afternoon at 3 p.m. a symposium on the theme "Polydisciplinary faculties: assessment and prospects for development and transformation".

This conference will be marked by the participation of the Minister of Higher Education, Lahcen Daoudi, the Secretary General of SNESup, Mohammed Driouech, Dean of the FP of Safi, El Hassane Boumgerd, and Moulay Youssef El Idrissi, regional secretary of SNESup in the Doukkala-Abda region. It will also offer the opportunity for the various speakers to debate the issue of polydisciplinary faculties which are currently undergoing restructuring. To this end, Said Khoumri, professor of political science and secretary of the local section of SNESup in Safi, will address the problematic aspects of these establishments in a speech entitled "Polydisciplinary faculties: legal situation and problem of representativeness". Subsequently, Abderrahim El Ckorfa, professor at the FP of Taza, will speak about the problems linked to scientific research and the professional path of professor-researchers within the FPs before giving the floor to Rahali Redwane who will make a speech entitled "The FPs, nature of pedagogical supervision and limits of training".

This debate follows the wave of protests that followed the exclusion of the FP of Safi from the emergency measures planned by the Ministry of Higher Education with a view to restructuring the FPs and providing them with the means to integrate into the licence/master/doctorate (LMD) training system.

The programme also provides for the organisation of an open debate with the Secretary General of SNESup before proceeding to the inauguration of the new headquarters of the regional office of the said union within the Higher School of Technology.
