As part of the 2015-2016 academic year, the medical-social centre of Mohammed V University in Rabat has organised a blood donation campaign since Monday under the theme "Give blood to save human lives". Conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the National Blood Transfusion Centre of Rabat, it continues until today. This campaign aims to raise awareness among students, teachers, and the administrative and technical staff of the university in order to foster a spirit of solidarity and citizenship within the university. "The inauguration of this campaign, which took place on Monday at the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences of Rabat, saw the participation of the President of Mohammed V University as well as deans, professors, and students in particular," specifies Mohammed V University.
As a reminder, the director of the National Blood Transfusion Centre, Mohamed Banajiba, had recently sounded the alarm. He stated that the blood stock was dwindling, noting that the city of Casablanca only has 3 days of reserves and Fes 5 days. He stressed that national needs are estimated at 2,500 litres per week, specifying that the current stock is 1,500 litres.
