Meknes hosts the 5th edition of the family meetings

Islam has placed great importance on the family, which represents a fundamental pillar for building a "successful society".

The 5th family meetings initiated by the local Scientific Council of Meknes, under the banner "The centrality of the family in human development", began on Saturday with the participation of a galaxy of ulema and academics.

According to the organisers, this social meeting aims primarily to highlight some facets of the life of the Prophet, peace be upon him, an exemplary journey despite his heavy responsibilities and the difficulties he faced, as well as the way in which he transmitted the message of God.

The president of the local Scientific Council of Meknes, Mohamed Sissi, shed light on the interest that the Sunnah and the Quran place on the family, while also placing emphasis on the Prophet's behaviour towards the family and society.

For his part, the director of the centre and cultural activities at the regional delegation of Islamic Affairs, was keen to specify that Islam has placed great importance on the family which, according to him, represents a fundamental pillar for building a "successful society".

Modern societies, he continued, will need to draw inspiration from religious texts to help the family, in particular, out of the rut of family problems and societal obstacles.

The inaugural session of these meetings, which also saw the organisation of round tables and conferences focusing on the role of the family in society, was enhanced by the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Scientific Council of Meknes and the Arrissala Association for education. Through this agreement, both parties are working to organise joint activities as well as training sessions.

This social and cultural event, organised in collaboration with the documentation and cultural activities centre of the regional delegation of Islamic Affairs, continues with various activities including an exhibition of documents and publications from centres under the Rabita Mohammadia of Ulema, and a local produce fair reserved for local cooperatives.
