Marrakech hosts the 4th edition

* Inauguration in Marrakech of the 4th edition of the "Travelling Markets of Social and Solidarity Economy Products of the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region"

* An action that has positive repercussions on the incomes of small producers, on the promotion and preservation of local products and know-how, as well as on employment and self-employment.

The 4th edition of the "Travelling Markets of Social and Solidarity Economy Products of the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region" was inaugurated on Saturday in Marrakech, in the presence of the Minister of Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatema Marouane.

Initiated under the theme "United in production and solidarity in purchasing", this handicraft fair sees the participation of more than 60 associations, economic interest groups, and cooperatives from the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region, operating notably in the handicraft and agricultural sectors.

In a statement to the press, Fatema Marouane made it known that the organisation of this exhibition is part of the ministry's strategy for the development of the social and solidarity economy.

This Fair allows cooperatives to promote their products directly to consumers without having to go through intermediary circuits, she added, noting that participation in this type of exhibition allows cooperatives to strengthen themselves further and fully play their economic role.

In a similar statement, the president of the Marrakech Chamber of Handicrafts, Najib Ait Abdelmalek, indicated that the objective of organising this type of exhibition remains the coaching and accompaniment of artisans in the process of marketing their products.

Fatema Marouane, who was accompanied notably by the wali of the region, Abdeslam Bikrat, and the regional director of handicrafts in Marrakech, Abdelaziz Rghioui, visited the stands of the exhibitors participating in this fair.

In addition to the exhibition of artisans' products, this fair includes training sessions for artisans and exhibitors focused notably on "The new provisions of Law 12-112 relating to cooperatives", "The promotion of cactus products and technical coaching of processing units", "Sanitary authorisations and approvals for processing units of local agricultural products", and "Product marketing".

The closing day of this Fair will be marked by the awarding of certificates to the participating cooperatives and associations.

The 4th edition of the "Travelling Markets of Social and Solidarity Economy Products in the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region" is organised by the Ministry of Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, in partnership with the Prefecture Council of Marrakech, the Regional Council of Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, and the Marrakech Chamber of Handicrafts.
