The Moroccan Association for Training and Research in Medical Oncology (AMFROM) will hold its 6th Annual National Congress on 21 and 22 March in Marrakech, the proceedings of which will focus particularly on immunotherapy and personalised treatment.
This medical meeting allows national, Maghreb and foreign oncology luminaries to meet every year to exchange and learn about recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of cancerous diseases, reports the MAP.
"Immunology and personalised treatment constitute a relevant thematic choice in an international context marked by the renewed interest in immunotherapy in cancer treatment with the advent of second-generation molecules. Personalised treatment is becoming essential today in the era of genomic sequencing of tumours and à la carte treatment," indicate the organisers regarding this 6th Congress.
Drug treatment represents an unavoidable modality in cancer care today, hence the need to bring to the attention of professionals the evolution of different therapies and advances in research in the field, indicates the same source.
This scientific event occurs in a context marked by the dynamic initiated by the Lalla Selma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment and the Ministry of Health with the objective of promoting research in oncology, more particularly in medical oncology, as well as optimising therapeutic results by increasing the effectiveness of drug treatments while minimising their short and medium-term side effects, underlines a presentation note for this 6th edition.
The major challenge of this congress is to bring together research and care around the same national event and take stock of current topics revolving around the care of cancer patients (personalised medicine, immunotherapy, nutrition).
On the programme for this medical conclave are interactive workshops, conferences by national and international experts and symposiums dedicated to innovative therapies in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry.
The Maghreb session of the congress, initiated 3 years ago, is maintained during the 6th edition of the congress and testifies to the continuity of Maghreb cooperation in the field of oncology and inter-Maghreb scientific exchanges.
