FIFA Executive Committee meeting on 18 and 19 December in Marrakech

The Executive Committee (EC) of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) will hold its fourth session of the year on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 December 2014 in Marrakech on the sidelines of the 11th edition of the Club World Cup Morocco 2014 (10-20 December), it was indicated by FIFA.

The agenda for this meeting will include several subjects including the approval of the decision in principle taken in Zurich on 25 and 26 September according to which the ownership of players' economic rights by third parties would be prohibited and a transitional period would be arranged. This file is now back in the hands of the Working Group on Third-Party Ownership of Players' Economic Rights, chaired by Geoff Thompson, FIFA Vice-President, who will be responsible for drafting the corresponding technical provisions. The draft will then be submitted to the Players' Status Committee.

This Marrakech meeting will be preceded by the holding of a series of meetings by four FIFA committees: the Organising Committee for the Club World Cup Morocco 2014, on 9 and 18 December, the Audit and Compliance Committee, on 16 December, the Finance Committee, on 17 December, it was learned from the FIFA communication department.

Marrakech had already hosted the 55th session of the FIFA Congress in September 2005.
