Some 24 million dirhams (MDH) are allocated to the strengthening of sports infrastructure in the province of Sidi Ifni, notably through the construction of socio-sports complexes. The construction work of a type "A" local socio-sports centre in the town of Lakhssass has reached a completion rate of 95%, with a budget estimated at 3.7 MDH financed within the framework of a partnership between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the municipality, the regional delegate of this department, Tahar Lansari, indicated to the MAP, adding that this project includes spaces reserved for children and young people, a sports hall and field and a small swimming pool.
Two similar centres will soon be installed in the town of Sidi Ifni and the commune of Mirleft (9.8 MDH), he continued, specifying that the administrative and technical procedures have been finalised pending the launch of the work. Future projects also include a local socio-sports complex grouping three grass (synthetic) fields, which will be built in the town of Sidi Ifni with a budget estimated at 2.2 MDH, financed within the framework of a partnership between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the municipality, as well as a covered hall with an area of 4,000 square metres (9 MDH), financed within the framework of a partnership between the Ministry, the regional council of Souss-Massa-Drâa and the municipal council of Sidi Ifni. These projects will also include, according to the regional delegate, five collective sports fields, which will benefit, within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), the communes of Sbouya, Sidi M'barek, Boutroch, Ibder and Imi Anfass. A reception centre will also be created in the town of Sidi Ifni with a budget of around 350 thousand dirhams, financed within the framework of a partnership between the INDH and the Awrach Sidi Ifni Association.
