La municipalité de Lakhsas, ou Lakhssas, se trouve au sud du Maroc, sur une superficie de 10 km2, sur la route nationale principale n°1 qui lie Tiznit à Guelmim. Habitée par une population (les Ait Lakhssas ou Akhssasis) d'environ 47 336 individus (2010), elle se situe par rapport aux frontières suivantes : Tiznit au nord, Bouizakarne au sud, Ait rkha à l'est et Ait Baamrane à l'ouest et s'agissant d'une région montagneuse.
