841 million DH for the development of the new urban hub
The development project for a new urban hub in Guercif, intended for the eradication of shanty towns and substandard housing in the city, will require a total amount of 841 million DH, a statement from the province indicates. This new urban hub, which will cover 100 hectares, will allow for the rehousing of more than 7,303 households residing in the two large shanty town complexes of the Ghiatta and Hamria districts, the same source specifies. The progress of the equipment works for the Ghiatta subdivision (first phase), supervised by the governor of the province, Atmane Souali, has reached 20%. These equipment works, which started on October 17, 2011, and will last 36 months, will allow for the rehousing of 2,222 households residing in the substandard Ghiatta district.
