Fitness for All in Guelmim

Fitness for All in Guelmim

Organised by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Aerobic Sports, Fitness, Hip-Hop, and Assimilated Disciplines, and in tribute to the women of the South, the 5th edition of Fitness for All will take place on 24 and 25 May 2014 in Guelmim, under the theme: "Guelmim will walk for well-being." After Dakhla in 2010, Boujdour in 2011, Smara in 2012, and Assa in 2013, it is the turn of the women of Guelmim to express their aspiration for physical and moral well-being during a special weekend. It is with the aim of raising awareness among women in the Southern provinces about the practice of sport, and a healthy and balanced diet, that the Royal Moroccan Federation of Aerobic Sports, Fitness, and Hip-Hop created an adapted sports event in 2010, in order to fight against overweight among women in the Southern provinces. Obesity which is part of the norms of femininity and beauty of the region and which, unfortunately, has repercussions on the health of these women. On the programme: aerobics classes, nutrition and dietetics advice sessions, a body walking session on the outskirts of the city, with a space for measuring weight and height, in addition to personalised advice. The organisers have also planned a conference on dietetics and nutrition at the animation hall and the sports walk, the start of which will be given at the Guelmim multi-sports hall. The objective is to raise awareness about the importance of practising a sports activity, without forgetting a healthy diet for balance and the prevention of certain diseases. The weekend will also be held under the sign of the universal values of friendship, peace, and solidarity.
