The detectives of the Guelmim judicial police arrested a gang of six people last week, including one who was the subject of six national arrest warrants, accused of premeditated murder.
The investigation conducted following numerous complaints allowed the detectives of the judicial police to unravel this case and dismantle this gang of six individuals, following the arrest of a man in his forties known for his criminal record, who was the subject of six national arrest warrants for various offences by the Guelmim judicial police. The suspect is accused, in particular, of voluntary homicide with premeditation, international drug trafficking, and possession of firearms without authorisation, a security source indicated.
Investigation operations carried out at the suspect's home led to the arrest of five other people suspected of having participated in criminal acts, the seizure of a quantity of chira, a large sum of money, documents for the deposit and transfer of money of suspicious origin, a satellite phone, and equipment and tools resulting from thefts. The investigators also seized a motorcycle and a car used to transport stolen items.
"Faced with the resurgence in recent weeks of thefts targeting, in particular, cybercafés, commercial premises, and telecommunications companies, and following complaints filed by several victims, the judicial police investigators conducted an investigation that ultimately led to the arrest of these six individuals, who are also believed to be responsible for other hold-ups committed in the Agadir region," explains this source. The suspects have been placed at the disposal of the National Judicial Police Brigade for further investigation and to potentially determine their link with other criminal networks, before referring them to justice to answer for their actions. Searches are underway to apprehend the merchants who were involved in selling stolen items, while some victims have recovered items that were stolen from them.
