Closing of the 20th edition in Errachidia

The inaugural session, focusing on the various aspects of the life and work of the late H.M. Hassan II, was marked by the message from H.M. King Mohammed VI to the participants of this meeting.

The 20th edition of the Moulay Ali Chérif University, organised by the Ministry of Culture under the High Patronage of H.M. King Mohammed VI under the theme: "The reign of H.M. Hassan II: Sources and archives", ended on Saturday in Errachidia.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of this meeting, the Historiographer of the Kingdom, spokesperson for the Royal Palace, and president of the scientific commission of the Moulay Ali Chérif University, Abdelhak Lamrini, highlighted the importance of the interventions and presentations dealing with the reign of the late H.M. Hassan II, stressing that the second session of this 20th edition will take place in April in Marrakech.

The inaugural session, focusing on the various aspects of the life and work of the late H.M. Hassan II, was marked by the message from H.M. King Mohammed VI to the participants of this meeting.

The programme of the first day of this edition included an exhibition of photographs of the late H.M. Hassan II, organised by the High Commission for Former Resistance Fighters and Former Members of the Liberation Army, and the screening of a documentary entitled: "Stages in the life of a great King", produced by the SNRT.

The first session, chaired by the director of the Al Hassania Library, Ahmed Chaoui Binebine, focused on the interventions of Najat Lamrini, from the Faculty of Arts of Rabat, on aspects of Hassan II's personality through the book "The Challenge", of Salah Chakak, from the Regional Centre for Education and Training of Kénitra, on the speeches and interviews of H.M. Hassan II, of Mohamed Naciri, from the Faculty of Arts of Kénitra, on a reading of the book "Memory of a King", and of Mustapha Amadi, from the Faculty of Arts of Casablanca, on the late H.M. Hassan II in certain Spanish sources.

The second session, chaired by the director of the Archives of Morocco, Jamaâ Baida, revolved around interventions led by Mohamed Zine Al Abidine Husseini on the book "The Challenge", a source of historiography of the reign of H.M. Hassan II, by Kassim Hadik (Assalam High School - Meknès) on the unity of the Arab Maghreb in the thought of Hassan II through his speeches and writings, by Hanane Hakkouni (Ibn Rochd High School - Berrechid) on "education-training in the thought of Hassan II, a study of his historical speeches", and by journalist Mohamed Seddik Mâaninou on a "reading of the press conferences of the late H.M. Hassan II".

Those who took part in this closing ceremony included the Minister of Culture, Mohamed Amine Sbihi, the Wali of the Drâa-Tafilalet region, Governor of the Errachidia province, Mohamed Fanid, and elected officials.
