Damage from recent bad weather estimated at 12.5 MDH

Torrential rains and hailstorms recorded in several areas of the Errachidia province caused material damage of around 12.5 MDH. According to a provisional report drawn up by the services of the Regional Office for Agricultural Development of Tafilalet (ORMVAT), the damage caused concerns agricultural infrastructure, notably the séguias and agricultural production (olives, dates, and apples).

The hailstorms recorded in the communes of Aoufous, Outerbat, Sidi Aayyad, and Hssiya caused damage to agricultural production, particularly regarding apple trees."Farmers must now think about acquiring anti-hail equipment and structuring themselves into an association or a cooperative, in order to coordinate efforts with the services concerned and avoid such losses," indicated Mohamed Bousfoul, head of the irrigation and drainage network management service at the ORMVAT.
