On the occasion of the Arab Environment Day, the Dakhla Bay network for social action and development is organising, on 23 and 24 October in Dakhla, the 4th edition of the Regional Environment Forum under the banner "The environment, a common capital, a collective responsibility". The Forum, which will see the participation of nearly 200 actors from civil society, has the objectives of encouraging volunteering through the mobilisation of actors in the environmental protection system, and promoting the spirit of individual and collective responsibility among students in schools.
The programme includes a visit to Dakhla Bay, the organisation of several drawing workshops, waste recycling for the benefit of children, manual work for the benefit of women benefiting from literacy programmes, as well as the launch of a reforestation operation, indicates a statement from the organisers.
The Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region possesses significant maritime potential, with its 667 km of coastline and a bay of 400 km2 on the Atlantic Ocean. Morocco, which is among the countries benefiting from economic assets thanks to its coastline, has two maritime facades and possesses a rich and important natural capital.
