Hay Al Wahda was built on the site occupied by the Mokhayam (Dakhla shanty town), with the contribution of the Southern Agency, hence its name Al Wakala. This neighbourhood is the hottest in the city. One finds all kinds of drugs and delinquency, particularly juvenile. One of the disreputable pool halls in this neighbourhood, mainly frequented by teenagers, was the scene of a drama that shook the neighbourhood on the morning of last Saturday. At the end of a game between two teenagers, one of them was stabbed. The attacker, who must have been under the influence of psychotropic drugs, was apprehended by the elements of the judicial police, while the victim, in critical condition, continues to be treated at the regional hospital. This drama, which is only one among others that the city has known this year, requires the police forces to multiply their patrols in this neighbourhood notoriously known for the delinquency that prevails there.
